Governorate: Tataouine
Delegation: Smar
Other names for the same Gasr: Gasr Elguein

How to get to the Gasr: on the paved road from Tataouine, passing through Beni Mhira Gasr Aoun, 6 km from Beni Mhira. Very easy by car.
Suitability for tourism: none
Location of the Gasr in its environment: the Gasr is located on a plain, near a wadi bed; it is very spacious, arranged along a 300m axis in a double line. In the inner courtyard, there is a tree plantation.
Creation Date of the Gasr: fairly recent; in 1932.
Number of ghorfas: approximately 250.
Number of floors: in most cases, there are two floors, often with a staircase leading to the second floor.
Number of external doors: there were two large entrances on the short sides of the courtyard.
Architectural condition: in an acceptable state, even without major restoration: sand accumulation threatened the Gasr in the 1960s. This phenomenon completely hid the Gasr under a sandy blanket, which also preserved the Gasr's "thoras". The Regional Commissariat for Agricultural Development of Tataouine (CRDA) recently carried out sand removal work and planted a forest in the courtyard to slow down the silting process in the future.
