Access Route: This site is located in the vicinity of the Berber village of Chenini, near the "Seven Sleepers" mosque.
Site Description: The vertebrate footprints were discovered by F. Fanti, M. Contessi, and H. Aljane in 2010 near the village of Chenini. They are well-preserved on detached blocks from a level representing the Vraconian bar of the Rhadouane member (Albian-Cenomanian). This unit consists of bioclastic limestone beds rich in bivalves and gastropods.
Each block measures approximately 4 square meters with a maximum of 8 preserved prints. The initial orientation of the detached blocks and the preferred direction of the tracks have not been determined. They are poorly preserved with numerous fissures intersecting the tracks.
Based on general morphology, the number and shape of some prints, and relative size proportions, crocodilian tracks have been tentatively identified.
